::remm::

after 34 pages of human behaviour in social science (with massive help from dictionary.com), 10 pages of cultural dimensions and 8 of control systems, i'm done with tutorial 1 for 202.
that was before 201 lecture today. now i'm faced with yet another similar pile for monday's seminar.
what luck.

understanding jpop lyrics without having to look at them is really a confidence-booster. the songs sound so much nicer when the meanings become clear.

::readings::

just got back from 202 lecture. bad bad.
turned out to be a combination of OA and OB for those who know what i mean. both of which i suck at.
the pile of readings which i attempted to ignore turned out to be "prescribed". in the lecturer's words, "prescribed" means compulsory and examinable.
problem is, the readings range anywhere from 30 to 50 pages. i'm so reluctant to print them when i don't know whether it'll benefit at all.
but it's an open-book exam. i suppose the readings make up for the thin and cheap custom text.

i'm beginning to think singaporean students are quite spoonfed.
the course outlines for 201 listed a long list of recommended readings. just as i thought how was i going to find all the individual books, the course pack had all the answers.
does this inspire research and discovery? then again when i really have to dig through the library, i'll sure damn curse and swear.
what a contradiction.

unrelated random thought: 一人暮らしをしたい。
don't ask what it means. if you really want to know, go figure.

::east of eden.::

finally finished reading the 600-page novel. and i understand why john steinbeck won the nobel prize for literature for this. left quite an impression on me. the beautiful language, descriptions of different facades of human nature and everything else made it an excellent read. never mind that the plot wasn't one of romance, revenge or something big. just a simple family saga.
and so, i have decided to get an original copy for myself.

my english language standard is deteriorating fast. i declare it has stalled at secondary school level. darn.
i need to find a way to maintain my university standard, catch up on my chinese and improve my japanese concurrently. uphill task i know. but who ever said being multi-lingual was easy?

i don't know anybody in my 202 project group. and there's a presentation in week 4 which makes 15% of the grade. why does everything make me hate the module so much before i even attend a single lesson? oh well.

my dasenai tegami single is here! nicely wrapped and scratchless =)

僕らはずっと無邪気なまま 両手広げ
気ままに渡る青い風を ほほに受ける
今はまだ夢だと認めたくないけど

僕らはずっと裸足のまま この浜辺で
きらきら揺れる白い波を 追いかけてる
いつかまた会えると信じられるように

::-::

woke up late this morning and had 45 minutes to rush halfway across the island.
result of waiting for domoto kyoudai to finish downloading, fiddling with templates and reading till 2am the night before.
obviously i didn't make it and my mom had to take over half an hour of duty for me. oops.

and for a second time in two years, the field opposite my house will have a fireworks display. the real, loud and spectacular ones.
the first was for a korean drummer group, whose unexpected fireworks stalled traffic along the roads.
the second will be on the 9th august, when singapore celebrates happy 40. right at my doorstep.
the rehearsal yesterday was irritating though. couldn't concentrate on anything i was doing and ended up with a headache due to the noise.
anyway i suppose i can't complain much.

i'm beginning to enjoy dragonzakura. somehow i enjoy almost all j-dramas revolving around students. stand up was an exception. didn't see the point about emphasis on losing virginity :|

::new year new start::

back from first day of year 2. wasn't all that bad, because i discovered abit of good news. firstly, 201 and 305 don't have textbooks. secondly, lectures for 201 are only for week 1, 3 and 12. fridays are free! and wendy has the same 202 seminar as me. finally i have a partner =)

have actually been posting online for a good half year. but my previous domain didn't allow multiple entries on a single page which makes reading difficult. therefore will be posting here from now on.

34歳誕生日おめでとう坂本昌行さん~ V6というグループのリーダがまだまだ10年になりました。お疲れ様でした! 大変なことと思いますが、本当によく出来ました! そして、セックシ格好で舞台を頑張るで、結婚の生活もお楽しみに!
HAPPY 34th BIRTHDAY!!

getting slightly jittery after hearing about the earthquake that hit the kanto region yesterday. although there were no casualties, it got everyone wondering whether the BIG one was coming soon. pray that it never arrives.

had nydc for lunch/dinner just now. didn't do any shopping because we were just simply too lazy to.
went kino to let chris read the last chapters of harry potter 6 after listening to major spoilers i heard.
about hp, i don't know why, but i just can't be bothered to read the 600-odd pages about wizardry. despite all the good reviews about the series, i stopped at book 3 and have no incentive to continue.
have this feeling that its super long-winded...

stopped by borders too. a place that i never go unless accompanied by someone else. i just prefer kino la.
but nevertheless, books!! chris wanted the narnia series, i wanted to read something slapstick after all the heavy reading so i suggested shopaholic.
odd, but i'm really curious about the series.
flipped through many other books and couldn't find my nihongo by kindaichi haruhiko. honestly, all the major bookstores don't carry it (?!) and so, i've to reserve from nlb. and the ONLY branch that has the lone copy is in pasir ris when i study in boon lay. nice :|

i just realised its a week to the 31st july. my toni10!! have waited patiently enough for it.
期待な~
